I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice Studies from Kent State University in Ohio and I'm currently enrolled in Teaching Certificate courses.
Experience
My background and experience comes from over 12 years in Higher Education and I currently work full-time as a Coordinator for Student Leadership & Development at a university in Ohio. I have experience as a tutor and GED instructor and I'm a former Americorps VISTA (Volunteer In Service To America), where I coordinated the America Reads Literacy program for children, grades K-3. My goal as a tutor is to make sure students are globally competitive and fully prepared for college especially in the areas of reading, writing, and basic communication skills. I also believe that it's important for students to understand the world around them by being media literate, engaged in history happening right before their eyes, as well as how our world has been shaped by past historical events and leaders to be be able to think critically about these topics.
